Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre and Tea Room Win Gold in the SME Luton and Bedfordshire Business Awards

We’re delighted to announce that we won Gold for the London Luton Airport Hospitality Business of the Year category at the SME Luton and Bedfordshire Business Awards.

On Thursday 29th June staff and volunteers from Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre and Tea Room and Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity came together to attend the SME Luton and Bedfordshire Business Awards.

The awards brought together small and medium sized businesses across Bedfordshire and Luton, and the evening was filled with celebration for everyone who had reached the finals. Hosted at The Auction House in Luton, the evening began with a drinks reception and three course meal, followed by some fantastic entertainment by saxophonist Liz Greenwood.

The Hospitality Business of the Year category is a new category for this year, so to be the first ever winners is a huge achievement. The category celebrates local businesses that exceed customers expectations, build long-term customer relationships and provide a service that is consistently outstanding, and we’re proud that this award shows we do this.

Winning Gold means that we are put through to the SME National Business Awards at Wembley Stadium in December and will be up against Hospitality Businesses from across the country for our category.

Tracy Cowan, Beds RCC CEO said:

I am incredibly proud of our Tea Room and Heritage Centre for winning Gold last night, they truly deserve to win this award. It was fantastic to celebrate with some of our amazing team and we can’t wait to attend the Nationals in December!
