BRCC works to support and develop opportunities for rural business across Bedfordshire. Alongside Ridgmont Heritage, BRCC also run Warden Abbey Community Vineyard.
Nestled between the picturesque villages of Old Warden and Cardington, vines were first planted on this beautiful Bedfordshire field in medieval times by monks at the Cistercian Abbey of Warden. It is now managed by Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity as an educational and community resource.

We stock Warden Vineyard wine at The Barn, so come and buy a bottle to try our local English wine for yourself.
Warden Abbey Vineyard also sell direct at vineyard tours and local fairs and events throughout the year.

You can also arrange to collect from the vineyard on most Tuesdays and Fridays (January to October).

Friends of Warden Abbey Vineyard
The Friends of Warden Abbey Vineyard was set up by our fantastic volunteers to support and help develop the project. All funds raised by the Friends are used to help with the costs of running the vineyard, such as purchase of equipment and training courses.

Volunteering Opportunities
The vineyard is lovingly cared for all year round by local people giving their time to the project. It’s a great green gym, and unique way to enjoy the outdoors, meet new people, and relax from the stresses of life.
Volunteer sessions at the vineyard are generally held on Tuesdays and Fridays, between 9.30am and 4pm, depending on the seasonal task to be done.
